NSC 8504 heads light engine back to the shops after dropping a cut of unpainted hopper cars at the paint booth. 8504 made that single move this morning before being parked and shut down in favour of one of the yellow centre cabs. It seems the SW1001's aren't quite ready for regular use!

  1. I hadn’t noticed how subtlety stylish this paint scheme is. Nice capture !

  2. 8504 does indeed have an eye catching paint scheme, the red diagonal warning stripes on the pilot adding a nice splash of colour. Thanks for sharing, John

  3. Those new units look good and sound nice. Taking a while to get the bugs out though. Last time I saw the 5306 it could barely make walking speed with three unpainted hoppers trailing.
