Caption: So I had a lovely weekend on June 29/30 as I took my kids to Great Wolf Lodge, booked well before Amtrak returned with 50'th anniversary in the lead to commemorate the event and all the stars would align for me more than just the Amtrak. A friend tipped me off that the Resolute paper plant was going to have an auction of surplus equipment so I registered and attended hoping to see some locomotives. I had to find time to sneak out (easy as my kids are older now) and when I did I brought my camera just in case, but I had no idea if I'd be able to use it. I was pleased I did as I was greeted with friendly auctioneers happy to let me tote the camera, and I took full advantage. However, later the owner questioned why I was taking pictures.... however, here's the next one in the series :)

Now isn’t that nice!! I had not seen this paint scheme……yet. What work is going on at the hub is progressing oh sooooo slowly.
Nice looking in those colours, noticeably absent is the unit number on the side of the cab? I keeps hoping to see the 1305 on the rehabilitated track south of the gate house soon. It was blocked in by a piece of work equipment on Novemeber 10th.
Looks like the new paint scheme for the new owners covered it up. Either way it’s a nifty take on the prior scheme.
Not many roster shots of this unit on the Internet lately so I figured this would fill a niche Arnold. It was neat watching the plant workers watch me take pictures, a number of them have been kept on to maintain things and previously this place was locked down tight. Still kind of is today.
