    Years ago, one of these stopped at Guelph Jct on its way from London to Toronto. The Operator told me later “I couldn’t believe how many of those *censored* officials they could cram into that thing”.

    I believe these things operated signals & crossing protection as the axles were not insulated like motorcars (speeders) were.
