Caption: The other Copetown. The CP Rail operation of the Nanticoke steel train rumbles westbound along the Waterford Subdivision at Copetown, passing the muskeg ponds approaching the Highway 52 crossing near Powerline Road. Power includes a pair of MLW C424s bracketing the leased Chessie (B&O) GP38 4806.
Built by MLW in 1965, both C424s would be retired in the late 90s, with 4207 retired in 1996 and sold to Century Metals of Lachine, Quebec for scrap in 1997, and 4227 sold to HELM in 1997 for refurbishment and future sale to the Apache Railway. It was still in operation as recently as 2018 as their 98. B&O 4806, built 1970, has had a number of owners and numbers, starting with CSXT 2106, to Grand Rapids and Eastern Railroad 5106, renumbered to GR 3839, and now operating for the G&W family on the Mid-Michigan Railroad as the 2057. , A few days before on March 27, Robert Farkas snapped this power at Chatham Street roundhouse, and it appears Doug Page also shot the run above over at Aberdeen Yard before departure.
