Behind the station (beyond the Timing Circuit sign) is the roadbed of the Northern Railway - Muskoka branch, Allandale Junction to Gravenhurst, opened 1873 to Washago and 1875 to Gravenhurst.
That roadbed abandoned 1955 with the highway 11 Washago bypass construction that realigned the Newmarket parallel to the Bala to the new grade separation

Very nice !! Miss the old signal structure.
Great image,glad I got a few shots here before the signals were deactivated and all but on track removed.
Washago was such a cool place to visit with its distinctive signal bridge. Very nice shot !
