The Brampton CP station at Queen & Park Sts certainly closed a long time ago. Last passenger train thru in 1970, and this photo is six years later; the station looks rather forlorn already. Constructed just after 1900, it survived numerous demolition deadlines; the first one in 1977 and has had as many lives as a cat. Dismantled and finally (2010) reborn as a community centre in Mount Pleasant Village the last I heard. It is not too far from the GO station. Methinks a road trip to check this place out come spring is a good idea. :o)

  1. an area all too familiar to me… didn’t know there was a water tower present!

  2. And I keep wondering who got that glorious porcelain “Brampton” sign…… :o )

  3. Yes it has been beautifully restored and worth a visit.
