Caption: So close and yet so far. For decades, CNR 6213 has sat at the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto, next to the Stanley Barracks in her own pen. An excursion runner in the 1960's, she was replaced by another Northern type steamer and then donated to the City of Toronto, who put her on display. Unlike other display equipment that often times falls into disrepair, a small preservation group kept 6213 ship-shape, and a year or two after this photo was taken, 6213 was moved to the Toronto Railway Heritage Association's Roundhouse Park by the CN Tower, fitting in better with in its new railway environment than in the middle of a parking lot..
