Caption: Heading southbound through the Don Valley in the snow, CN SW1200RS units 1320 and 1213 lead an extra freight down on the Bala Sub through "Don" (the interlocking at Queen Street bridge), stopped while awaiting the light from the Train Director at Cherry Street interlocking tower to enter Toronto Terminals Railway territory (the downtown Toronto trackage around Union Station, presently the USRC). This could be a transfer freight from MacMillan Yard for either Don Yard, or possibly Mimico. Note the three tracks, the closest of which is CP's Don Branch (the Belleville Sub) from Leaside, then CN's Bala Sub mainline from Doncaster diamond, followed by CN's P500 service track.
This slide was part of an interesting series of photos taken by an unknown photographer, showing multiple meets between a southbound CP transfer down the Don Branch lead by RSD17 8921 "The Empress" (and caboose 438811), meeting a local freight headed by CN S2 8136 that was switching some of the industries around the Don/Cherry St. area on the service track, later followed by this southbound freight lead by 1320 & 1213 down the adjacent Bala Sub.
