Caption: After chasing GWR westbound from Assiniboia to Cadillac (the crew went further to Dollard, where they handed things over to another crew) the previous day, I was informed they would be heading west to Verwood the following day. Having enjoyed the company in Assiniboia (a local railfan who helped me out with some advice and introducing me to the folks at GWR, and the GWR crew/management themselves), I decided to stick around for another chase. The crews are ordered for 0700 in Assiniboia, and after a couple of hours of switching and getting paperwork sorted, they set out eastward for Verwood. The chase was predominantly cloudy, but perhaps in what was the most important moments of the morning, the skies opened up and shone light down on the train as they set off 11 empty hoppers at Superior Pulses. From what I gather, Superior Pulses is a relatively new outfit in Verwood, having began operations in 2016 there. Part of this was painting the elevator blue. Hey, at least it's still standing. The crew returned to Assiniboia light power after this and worked the yard, but at that point I had my other items on my to do list for the day and ventured along.

Sorry, caption should read “heading east to Verwood the following day.”
I should have noted in the caption that this trackage is Red Coat Road and Rail, and the GWR operates it.
