TTC PCC 4491 and a 4600-series ex-Cleveland car (possibly 4628) operate MU'ed together on the Bloor route heading westbound for Jane Loop, on Bloor Street West stopped at the light at Keele Street/Parkside Drive in the morning. MU'ed streetcars on the busy Bloor and Danforth routes were common back in the day, and one of the reasons the Bloor-Danforth subway line was soon to be built. This photo was taken on the same day (and not too long after) this one of TTC 4432 heading eastbound on Bloor at Indian Road was captured: http://www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=31007.The large billboard in the background advertises Pierre Berton twice each hour on radio station CHUM 1050. The large billboard on the right is an ad from Cities Services Gasoline to "Protect their heritage of pure water", and the yellow advertisement on the ground is for Dunlop's Gold Bead Tire (there were a number of service stations and car dealerships along this stretch of Bloor). The section of road done with red interlocking pavers is a nice touch, although judging by the other side may be facing an asphalt pave-over in the near future.Photographer unknown, Ektachrome from the Dan Dell'Unto collection (with some colour correction/restoration work, as this one was another badly deteriorated and Cyan-shifted slide.

  1. No shortage of TV antennas. They all appear to be quite tall.
