Caption: If you happen to be driving along Hwy 52 between Copetown and Hwy 403, it is hard to imagine coming across a scene like this. But it once was. Now, the location is overgrown with brush and good sized trees, the railroad is no more; it is now the quiet Hamilton-Brantford Rail Trail. This is former namesign 'Summit' in rail terminology but the actual closest settlement would be Jerseyville. B&O 4801, C&O 4885 and 4828 with the Steel Train for Nanticoke and just about everything else in this image save for the highway is now a part of history.

I’ve walked a good chunk of this trail on more than one occasion. I like it, well shown Arnold!
I reallly really like this picture!
I would just like to point out that in this picture the photographer is facing west.
crap i think what i said was wrong, your facing east.
Crap. You got it Ralph. I am looking eastward.
This early 80′s stuff of yours really hurts. I really wish I was a more capable photographer when I was 2.
And your own kids are going to be a bit peeved you didn’t train them on digital when THEY were two.
Good point! I better get on that.
I love these older shots because the cars (of the automotive variety I mean…) add a lot of interest on their own. Great shot Arnold!
Another great shot. In my travels now I always wonder what was in thia area and this provides some great insight as usual.
Thanks for your comment(s), Paul. I’m glad you are enjoying this stuff.
