Nice shot Arnold! Why the CP SD90mac can’t operate over the USA? However the UP SD90mac can…? Do you know also why this track has been abandonned soon after your shot?
The casino was built over the tracks. Many levels of Government involved, with both CN and CP so it happened very quickly.
I believe the whole CP SD90 not operating in the US fiasco was caused by CP not wanting to spend the extra money on parts to keep them up to US emissions standards. Thus, they likely used (cheaper) non-compliant parts and restricted them to Canada-only service.
At the time this neat photo was taken however, they were probably still emissions qualified for the states.
Sheesh Mr. Moon – you posted a bunch of pics before you left on vacation. I like this one too. Didn’t the Minolta Tower begin life as the Seagram’s Tower?
