Caption: CN was power short in 1996/1997, and leased a number of units from Conrail, Wisconsin Central (SD45s), and Norfolk Southern C30-7s to name a few. The NS C30-7s were on their last legs, so I'm sure NS was more than happy to make a few bucks off them before they were retired. CN 143, with a pair of NS C30-7s trailing, is just starting in to the climb up Dundas Hill as they cross Hwy. 403.

Interesting vantage point..
I didn’t think anyone else ever went over to that hillside spot. Great shot of a great pair.(Not something I usually say about trains)
Thanks guys. I don’t know why we went over there. This was the one and only train I ever shot there.
Ya know, Mr. Smith….I wandered over there dozens of times; but not since 1990 or so. The days when we could ‘wander at will’ dried up around then.
That was a nice location to grab a shot of trains westbound over the Hwy 403, and that image proves it.
If it was still ‘permissable’, I’d go back there in a heartbeat.
