Count them: five MLW M420W #2561 – 2570 – 2572 – 2565 – 2525 westbound near mile 304 Kingston Subdivision - the approach to Whitby. Note the open auto carrier cars – and this view is different today. The six to seven year old M420W's will be renumbered (in 1986 ) to the 3500 series and by the mid 1990's many would be sold to shortlines, but all in this image will be retired by CN before 1998.     I’ll say. So much has changed, but that hydro pylon seems to be the one constant… and 2500′s still pass by daily, though of a less exotic breed.
