Caption: An early VIA paint scheme on 6768 is evident on this smoky version of CN passenger train #75 heading west thru Bayview Junction on a late July afternoon in 1978. I'd like to assume these units had "CN" on the nose because VIA had not yet come into being even though a lot of painting had been ongoing in preparation for the official start-up come October. There were many other variations of "Noses" for a few years at this time, ranging from standard CN colours with the 'CN' painted out, or 'CN' left on,to red VIAs on yellow, yellow noses with no ID,yellow nose lines slanted rather than squared off at the sides, blue VIA on nose, and of course experimental 6532. Passenger trains were actually interesting back then.
