The silence of the small farming community of Belmont, Ontario is briefly broken as Canadian Pacific Railway local job #TK12 heads from St. Thomas, Ontario to Woodstock, Ontario with a load of frames from the Magna plant. Ontario Southland took over this Shortline by the end of the year.

Caption: The silence of the small farming community of Belmont, Ontario is briefly broken as Canadian Pacific Railway local job #TK12 heads from St. Thomas to Woodstock, Ontario with a load of frames from the Magna plant. The frames are destined for the now closed GM Truck plant in Oshwa. Ontario Southland took over this Shortline by the end of the year and the frame traffic would end before the takeover.

  1. Thanks for the photo Stephen. I lived near Belmont when a teen – never saw a train here at Belmont, but remember the station and freight shed before they were taken down.

  3. Sorry about not having any photos. I was a teen and never had a camera in those days. Also, probably like many of us, I believed that the railroads would be here forever! More power to those taking lots of photos now, and forever thankful to those like Bob Sandusky who did take photos when they were in their teens.
