Caption: A very overpowered and short CP #557 on February 5, 1993 was eagerly awaited by the local railfan population. No wonder!! It featured one-of-a-kind CP 8921 (RSD-17)followed by 4711 (M-636 converted to caterpillar engine in 1988)SD40-2 5601 (ret'd 2002), CP 4743 (another Big M) and SD40 5547 (ret'd by 2004) and maybe a dozen cars in tow. This image was taken on a rather warm morning for dead of winter, ground fog obvious from the Lemonville Rd bridge over the CN in Aldershot,ON.

Thanks for tagging this one, JP. I never understood why this shot did not razz anyone, considering it was followed by dozens of railfans, as well as having 2 one-of-a-kinds up front. Du day, but couldn’t be helped.
Kinda cool how much this has changed.. in a short period of time since then.
What a neat shot. Like Steve says this area has changed in the 20+ years. Which way was the train headed?
The header said “two unique classics”… I figured you meant 8921 and Arnold. Now I see 4711 in there too…
Tisk, tisk. Is there no controlling the young’uns these days ??
