Southbound VIA has just passed, so CP 6019, 5552, 5698 and B&O 3705 pull a northbound freight out of the siding, approaching Isabella St., Parry Sound.
The 5698 is in "Expo 86" paint and the B&O is on lease.

  1. Amazing how much has changed in 26 years, no evidence that signal was ever there now, and the siding has been stub ended from the North end with no switch on that corner anymore. Must have been going around the VIA to be routed through that short siding??

  2. Wow, by the time I started working out of Mactier in the nineties that siding was just a spur. I had no idea that there was a cantilevered signal there,let alone a switch! Wonder who that brakeman is that just got back into the cab after lining the switch?

  3. As far as that brakeman goes, yeah, I sure wish I had put some names to the photos back then, but as I have said before, I never imagined taking photos back in the 70s and 80s would result in them being displayed on something called the World Wide Web.
