CN train #401 was a daily 'treat' for the fans. You never knew what kind of power would be on it. The railfan routine was to go into Hamilton's Stuart St yard and find out; for in the mornings this train would back out of Hamilton until clear of the Junction at Bayview and then get lined up westward up the Dundas Sub.
Today's CN 2024 and 2000, a pair of C-630Ms made for an eventful chase and I followed this train as far as Paris.
All locomotives in this series were off the CN roster by 1996.
