A couple of CN's vintage 70 tonners are seen here drifting westbound past St. Peter's Bay thru the idyllic countryside. CN #30 and #40 both retired after CN abandoned the Isle in the early '80s; the #30 is on isplay at Delson, QC. This train is returning to Charlottetown after taking a few cars out to Souris for the potato harvest.

    A nice history lesson from the Mooney Archives. They move the spuds by container today; trucked across the Confederation Bridge and railed from there to Toronto.
    Stompin Tom had a good potato song,
    “Bud The Spud”, but most spuds were hauled by rail.
