Hi gang – rp.ca had an issue from Friday afternoon to Saturday afternoon that caused an outage for most users. Caused by a hack at our provider (but not affecting the site in any other way). The issue has been resolved. What type of hack? In simple terms – it’s like a flood brought to your city and surrounding your block (but not breaking into your building as you have a good flood wall set up)
However, I had the provider move us to a dry block to avoid the issue

I’m guessing that they were headed away from us in this view, and the white tank car’s trailing truck split the switch & headed into the siding. A thin flange might be one cause of such an occurrence.
Worse than that – the car was already on the ground well before the switch but rolling on ties. When it found the switch it was pulled to the ‘east’ as you see.
it was dragged on the ground about 200 meters at 10 MPH. Not a crazy amount of damage though and I believe the car was empty.
A crew that dragged a derailed car that short distance might be forgiven, but at some point I would have thought it started to be harder to pull & that’s a sign to look back to see why.Maybe that’s why they stopped where they did.
