Nice shot with a couple of old soldiers in charge.
Back in the late 80’s and possibly into the 90’s there was a foreman stationed here 24/7 to clear trains through the slow order. I think it was an underground stream causing instability in the roadbed. It looks like they now have some kind of drainage system to deal with the groundwater. I’m sure you have more accurate info on this. I just remember the constant radio chatter associated with the slow order.
Aitch….you’d be correct. I too remember hearing some sort of drainage issue here as well, but maybe last time was 5 years ago? Hopefully someone else can shed a light on this.
