I recall one got laid up with a bent rear drawbar, and the other had a bad compressor necessitating it always running with something else. They always seemed to stay on local runs, often with RLK 4001, I don’t think they ever ran on 431/432.
1400 had the compressor issues on OSR. So as long as one unit had it…. it could be in the consist
431/2 had the f unit at least once. And it led. It was a 7 or 8 unit train too.
And let’s ignore the times 431 ran west to Goderich from stratford. Which happened.
