Caption: Part 1/2. Homage. That's what we railfans do, we pay homage to the things we like, things we respect, whatever it may be, these things pictured are one of those. Every time OSR paints one of these things, anyone in this part of the world knows that you can just go knock on the door and ask permission to come inside. Having spent enough time with the fine folks at OSR, including spending time inside and outside OSR 1400 (nee RLK 1400) I wanted to pay homage to this thing before it left for good as it had been under work for months and I didn't have time that summer to drop by. I got these things when they were Transferred to OSR as well. But Jacob Patterson and I had plans to visit ETR this day - the only plan was the next sunny blue sky day (had to be sunny all day) we're going when we both have the time off. But on the way, I had to drop off copies of an Article I wrote for Railpace on the OSR and of course, get my photos of the 1400 being painted before it would be wrapped up and shipped off as I knew that much was happening at some point soon. Meeting Vice President Kimberly Willsie for the first time, and asking to get photos of 6539, I set off into the shop to get my photos quick and leave as we had *plans* and Windsor is quite the hike - the only stipulation was no photos were to be shared until VHA posts first. In the usual for OSR hospitality, I borrowed a ladder to get some elevation while photographing the thing inside while staff mulled around the shop. We were both done getting our shots when Drew Jolliffe walked by and said.... I'm going to pull this thing outside for photos for Brad (OSR President). OK.... guess this Windsor trip just got delayed a bit.. see the next picture in sequence.
BTW - Can anyone tell me why it's hooked into air as it seems to be in the shop? I think I have an idea but I'd rather a mechanically inclined person answer...
