Caption: Charging up the Niagara escarpment on approach to Campbellville, five RDCs take train 339 west from Toronto Union Station to Windsor and Detroit. Note the lead RDC, CPR 9110, has been repainted into the "dazzle," or "hockey mask" paint scheme with tuscan letterboards, adopted circa 1964 to improve visibility at grade crossings.
Locals will note the lack of intermediate signals in the background as the Galt Sub was ABS territory at the time. In the last month (Feb. 2025), this scene is once again without signals as a new intermediate has gone into service near the Kelso ski hill.
