Swaying in the breeze. The station agent's family laundry flaps in the late afternoon sun on a warm day in Oba, ON. Wow! Hard to believe I took this shot 49 years ago this summer. Working a CN tie gang on the N.O.D. in the summer of 1976 had me on the Ruel and Caramat Subs from May through October. Oba was a great location to park the gang cars and accommodation units as we had access to the general store and other amenities not found out on the line in remote siding locations. Nothing remains of the station or surrounding appliances at this location in 2025.

    Yeah, the time just zips along, doesn’t it? I’ve never seen this station and whats’ more, I have never seen family laundry on a line at one either. A most interesting photo. Thanks, lad.

    Great photo from a remote location. You could name the photo: OBA UNION STATION.
