A day of challenges out on the Mactier Sub, with 119 making a number of setoffs at Mactier due to power issues, holding both 2-118 up at Brignall, and 118 north of Parry Sound. With 119 finally off the main, 2-118 kicks up the snow near mile 5 of the Parry Sound Sub. The outbound crew would run into other issues on their way to Toronto, going into emergency at mile 95 for a train line separation behind the mid DPU (CP 8855). With it repaired and a roll by completed, the conductor would have to ride the tail end from mile 95 to roughly mile 88 before having enough room for the 6000 foot train to shove back and pick him up.

  1. A beauty !

  2. Wonderful winter scene.

  3. Nicely captured ! What a ride that conductor must have had, holding on for seven miles in -20C temps.
