This location, the car shop, is where power laying over was parked after the Chatham St roundhouse and shop was closed. This is more than likely power from the Aberdeen Turn assignment out of Quebec St. Therr were two jobs Mon-Wed-Fridsy & Tues-Thursday-Saturday. These were the last jobs out of London to use a caboose, or van. Excepting Saturday, the jobs got into Hamilton late evening & didn’t start the return trip until later the following day.
I believe the Aberdeen Turn went cabooseless by 1996 at the latest.
Thanks Ron for all the information. That makes sense as this photo was taken on a Saturday.
