  1. Dandy photo. I’ve never seen a photo of a train on the Fonthill spur….at this location!

  2. I saw one train at some point switching in Fonthill but that was it. This unit is the famous CN Beep. Interesting indeed !

  3. I believe you mean SWEEP!

  4. This is awesome
Never saw a train on this spur, neat to see .

  5. I meant Sweep, thanks for correcting my mistake!

  6. Great shot. Looking forward to seeing more from this line.

  7. Super rare… I remember movements on the line but they were really infrequent… nice that Fonthill Lumber relocated to Welland and is taking loads by rail again

  8. Supposedly Fonthill Lumber has not received cars in months. Can anyone confirm otherwise?

  9. The lumber company has moved and the spur to Fonthill removed several years ago! The portion left to service General Chemical removed 2 years ago!

  10. Yes indeed. Their new location in the north end of Welland did have a siding installed. Here’s a shot from last spring: http://www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=52027

  11. An empty was lifted from Fonthill Lumber earlier this week.

  12. Great to hear, thanks.

  13. Please remember the old Thorold Lumber was right in Fonthill , the new version is a complex switched by Gio on Browns line in Welland.
