Caption: Following CP eastward (compass northward) in the Fraser River canyon from crew-change point North Bend, a gravel road wound forth and back and crossed the Nahatlatch River three miles beyond Chaumox, and just a bit beyond that road bridge, climbed well above the railway, providing relatively easy access to the top of a gravel bank which was ideal for train observation. Here is an eastward coal empties with CP 5803 and 5861 and one more SD40-2 on the headend (and unseen mid-train remotes) on Wednesday 1987-06-24 heading for next station Keefers and onward to next crew change at Kamloops.
The CPKC bridge over the Nahatlatch River (half a mile west of the photo) is a bit of a walk to access and rather difficult for photos.
