I lived in Haldimand-Norfolk for years, and still remember to this day coming to Paris for the first time. That area where the bypass was, and still is one of my favourite spots to shoot. Although, back some 30 plus years ago, the bypass was still used as a siding. This portion used to run all the way through Harrisburg. Last time I was in Paris, there was still a section of rails in place on the east side of Grand River St. North at Silver Street (although now heavily grown in with trees, brush, etc). Nonetheless, the level crossing for the bypass was still in existence (can’t remember the year it was removed), with the still gate protected level crossing of the Dundas Sub. With the CTC signals easily visible in either direction, how busy the Dundas Sub is with its traffic and the local working out of Brantford to London and back….makes it still today a great place to venture to!
