One of the most impressive pieces of machinery I found on my western trip of 2001 was this freshly painted Ohio crane CP had stationed in Revelstoke. A very interesting town as far as the railway goes and the scenery certainly adds to any photos.

  1. Nice capture Marcus!
CP 414219 is an Ohio model DE 400 locomotive crane, serial number 5130, built new in 1981. It was surplus to CP’s needs and for sale at their yard in Port Coquitlam, BC October 5, 2020.
I may have seen you on the day you snapped your pic as I was working with CP at that exact location during the same week! ….

  2. Wow, what are the chances, LOL
Thanks for the update too !

  3. Maybe the moderators can correct the Reporting Marks in your caption detail from CP 243840 (the weight of the crane) to CP 414219 which is the assigned running number (reporting mark).
