The daily NS Talbotville Ont to Buffalo NY auto parts train ceased to operate some years ago. Its a shame, as it was a huge fan favourite. There seemed to be no end to the locomotive combinations that could appear on this train. An example is this view of UP 4896 and CSX 8973 powering the eastbound on a pleasantly warm May morning. On the right is the very last of its' kind in Niagara; a free standing building that was used for fresh fruit storage. The siding has been pulled up and the building is soon to be demolished. At one time every community along the line here had a facility like this, and in season a wayfreight would stop and load up perishables to ship to Toronto.
Its all a memory now. The business has been lost to the trucks.

  1. Very nice. Good times. I just found some of my old NS 327/328 shots. Just wish I was a more savvy photographer back then.
