Dull day, decent train. Actually, something like this was a common sight back in the very early days of VIA.
It is hot, really muggy, but I'm glad I hung in at the Junction for a few of these trains when I had the chance.
CN 6536 on the lead, but unfortunately I did not record the B unit.
The far right track was for helpers engines during the steam era for assistance on the long Dundas grade. On the left of the lead unit, note the well worn path up the hillside. Railfan path, of course.

  1. Love the ex Reading “Crusader” observation car first up in the consist!

  2. Yeah, it shuffled back and forth quite a few times back then. Best westbound, when it brought up the rear.

  3. Nice shot. A great vantage point, I always like seeing that view.

  4. Love the early semi ‘Rainbow’ era of VIA.
