    Nice shot with the coke quench in the background. That first car looks quite high (or is it an illusion ?).

    As I recall, I saw LRC’s teamed up with an F-unit for steam heat.

    The first car is a Tempo coach (or club); you can also see some fluting on the left. In 1982 the Tempo fleet was modified from 575V to 480V electrical to be compatible with LRC and Amfleet equipment. This let the LRCs replace the orange 3150-series RS-18Ms, and let VIA contribute to the equipment pool for the revived “International” to Chicago. (Previously the Tempo fleet was interoperable with GO equipment and a borrowed GP40TC occasionally took Tempos to Windsor.)

    The first new “International” left Toronto on October 31, 1982, and had 6901 (this unit) with four Tempo cars.
