At the west end of the sprawling Quebec St yard in London is a westbound train with CEFX 1007 and 1003 as power.  During this time a number of "Bluebirds" were on lease to CP and it was nice to be able to catch a pair of them on the head end. In the background is the old Military T-building, which I understand went up for sale last year, having outlived its necessity.

  1. A pair of these was indeed nice.

  2. Interesting also, that both units are the earlier version with number boards atop the windows and some cab differences. The later ones had the standard CP cab arrangement, but these early ones had the fridge in a different location, as well as an additional horn button on the Conductor’s side. They also had different brand of seats and I found them to be awful in terms of comfort & range of adjustment. One trip, I had to roll up my winter coat & sit on it so as to be able to see out of the window. In so doing my legs were dangling. I’m 5’9″ tall so it wasn’t as if I was quite short.
