Caption: Along the Thompson River just timetable east of Spences Bridge, CP’s Thompson sub. crossed the Nicola River on a straight deck-plate-girder bridge, and on Monday 1977-09-12 at 1756 PDT it was occupied by CN 5141 + 5126 + 5089 + 5274 with eastward grain empties. While nowadays with a directional running agreement in place in this area it is normal to see CN trains on CP’s track, this was a real variety treat in 1977.
Look closely above about fifteen cars back to see the CP Princeton sub. heading eastward to Merritt, Princeton, and Penticton.
