What is likely the London Pick-up at the time, CP 5421 west heads through Ayr with a clean dual flags SD40-2 leading another SD40-2. This type of power was a regular occurrence at the time, especially on this particular train, which quite often saw a pair of SD40-2s (F/R). Interesting rolling stock on this train as well.

  1. The pickup ran like this for over a decade, sometime around 2012 or 2013 it switched to four axle power.

  2. Great photo Kevin. That’s a neat looking train with the ballast hoppers too.
