The Muskeg mixed, with an almost solid train of empty hoppers, is just north of Duagh at mile 4.7. This is one of the few spots on the Coronado where you can take a reasonable photo of longer trains. The coaches can sort of be seen at the back in this photo, no red caboose for sure. Nice combo of numbers for the units. No mistaking spring in Alberta, brown grass everywhere. Please see neighbouring photo for tail end equipment. Photo taken at 19:00.

  1. Nice. I shot the CN 4791 still wearing zebra stripes in Brantford Yard, Mile 23.0 Dundas Sub. on August 27, 2023.

  2. 34+ years later I bet it wasn’t looking as good as it does in Extra 5610 west’s photo above!

  3. Awesome

  4. Wow !!!

  5. Incredible

  6. Everything looks so pristine. Great image!

  7. Thank you for the wonderful response on these 2 photo’s everyone. At this time in 1989, I was out pretty much on every Sunday & Wednesday evening that the Mixed left Edmonton, either just watching or taking pictures. Sadly, 3 months later on July 5th, I took my last photo’s. The Muskeg mixed was discontinued shortly thereafter.
