I’ve always found the concept of slugs and control cabs interesting. The Goderich Exeter has used a number of sets over the years and while they do little for horsepower they add a lot for traction. Mother GP40 3804 and slug 804 (a former GP40) are the newest set on the railroad, replacing the last set QGRY 3800/800, which suffered mechanical issues. It’s unfortunate that the northbound trip offers little for decent lighting except in a few locations such as between Moffat and Corwhin. GEXR 583 with its newest slug set and four cars is seen nearing Corwhin as it heads for Guelph.
