Caption: One of my favourite angles on the Halton subdivision, that unfortunately can never be done on a sunny day no matter the time. I’ve always like how this spot retains the old N&NW branchline feel minus the welded rail. I spent a lot of my Railfan youth on the hillside beyond the double stacks with a good group of friends, long before the golf course and steel bridge was here. Back then a farmers crossing was located in the cut allowing the farmer access to his fields split by the rail line. Even with the dormant landscape it is still a nice scene with the big clubhouse and Niagara Escarpment in the distance. This day my youngest son joined me as CN 148 storms upgrade with a pair of SD70M-2’s in the lead. It won’t be long before the golf course is open again and railfans banished from the bridge.
