I'm not sure if I would be looking on if one was using a torch to cut the CW Rail without safety glasses but that's how it back in this 1977 photo. Here's a CNR CWR train laying rail at Chartwell street as the conductor looks on with his lunch box radio, waiting to pull the movement westward and to start dropping the rail clear of the crossing. Taken from my fathers collection.
