The shadows were growing longer as the sun sets and CP train no. 231 emerges from the forest and eases onto the Mud Lake Trestle at Bolingbroke, ON.
Just moments before a friend and I were talking about how much warning we'd get before seeing 231. A stream behind us was preventing us from hearing the horn at Patterson Rd just a couple miles away. With perfect timing, and the sun not too low, we saw headlights in the distance.
