Before the new yard for Polymer Distribution Inc. (PDI) was built just west of Imperial Road in Guelph, the "North Industrial Spur" was only used as far MBI Smurfit (building to the left) and this crossing seen little use. However on occasion PDI would have overflow traffic that couldn't be handled at their main yard (located off Victoria Road) and would be spotted near the end of track for transload. On November 20, 2009 the brakeman on the OSR crew protected the rarely used Imperial Road crossing, as he radios to the enginer to move his pair of MLW RS-23's forward so they could grab the one hopper that had been spotted.

  1. Dave, this track has been used as a ‘team track’ ever since and been stuffed to the gills with PDI cars. Guelph Utility Pole also recieves loads once every week or two.
