A westbound extra descends the grade along the Halton Sub just west of mile 30 at side road 10. Evidence of recent upgrades can be seen in the surrounding landscape as the former Milton Subdivision branch line became CN's westerly mainline out of the GTA. Leading the train today is GO Transit GP40TC 607, the highest numbered of eight units numbered 600 through 607, which were broken in hauling CN freight trains over the course of a few months. The units would have their paintjobs modified to official GO Transit colours by April 1967 for final equipment testing before the start of service on Tuesday, May 23, 1967.John Freyseng Photo, Jacob Patterson Collection.
