Caption: A foamers tale. Winter has returned, although it's not -20 which is nice. I'm out shovelling what will be the first of many passes on the driveway today. West of town, I hear a horn. It's a weird horn. Should I? Roads will be lousy, school bus time, and it's close to beat it to the crossing in good weather. Sure, it's a dumb idea, but let's take the chance. Toss, the shovel, grab the camera, and let's see how it plays out.
It seems to be snowing harder at the crossing, but with about a minute to spare, I've beaten it to the crossing leaving who knows what from the bottom of the car plowing through a windrow to get off the road. Headlight comes around the far corner, and ....is that a 5 on the lead's numberboard??? That must be the KCS that went through 2 days ago. How did it get through unnoticed???
Sure, enough, it's not one but 2 KCS units leading what turns out to be CP 134(which means this pair made it to Detroit and back unnoticed....shame, shame foamer team) flying across the Galt for Toronto.
Winter is back, the car survived, and a complete fluke turns into a fun story. Now, back to shovelling.
