Caption: GWRS began ramping up MoW operations in the late summer through early winter of 2023, running regular Ballast trains to facilitate new siding construction across their system. The first generation of siding construction began in August, running 4062 solo between their ballast source in Horizon on the RCRR and the 3 new sidings at Valour, about halfway between Limerick and Assiniboia. This first operation took about 2 weeks to complete, sending 1-2 loads every weekday, with each load of ballast covering about half the siding length at Valour. From what I understand, these MoW operations continued onto other locations until November when a friend of mine went himself to catch grain season. Here they finish easing into the Willow Bunch Valley after starting the downgrade in Verwood as they follow the valley towards Assiniboia.
