Caption: Back when the first of the new Bombardier Toronto Rocket subway cars were starting to be delivered and undergo testing, the writing was on the wall for most of the TTC's old 1970/80's-era H4, H5 and H6 subway car fleets. While some elected to wait until the final few trains and final runs, others took the "bird in the hand approach" and got their photos while the going was good (the final Hawker Siddeley H5 cars retired in June 2013).

Here, TTC H5 5802 trails a southbound University line train (notes indicate 5701 leading) as it paused at St. Patrick subway station (Dundas Street) before heading south. St. Patrick and nearby Queen's Park were two unique stations on the University Line where the platform areas were just built in the TBM-bored tunnels, as opposed to using the cut-and-cover construction style for the entire station area like other stops along the early 1960's line. Some parts of the station had wall panels removed for maintenance, revealing metal tunnel lining sections underneath that were stamped for Canada Iron Foundry (Canron), with various October 1960 casting dates.
