Caption: TTC PCC 4518 heads southbound on Mount Pleasant Road at Davisville Avenue, meeting sister car 4530 (both A8-class PCC's built by CC&F in 1951, Toronto's newest and last PCC streetcar order) heading northbound on the Mount Pleasant streetcar route during its final month of operation. The Dominion Coal & Wood silos in the distance mark Merton Street, and just past where the road crossed over the old Toronto Beltline Railway (by then a CN spur serving the silos and TTC's Davisville Yard). The top of the CN Tower and First Canadian Place tower mark downtown Toronto as a distant but nearby place, and an old orange and black taxi (Beck?) completes the scene.
The Mount Pleasant leg of the St. Clair streetcar was spun off into its own route east of St. Clair subway station for a year during 1975-76, before being discontinued and replaced by trolleybuses. The final streetcar that operated on Mount Pleasant was Peter Witt 2766, on a special all-night fantrip charter, during the wee hours of July 25th 1976.

Very neat scene. Just behind the photographer, on the west side of Mount Pleasant was the original George’s Trains store.
Behind 4518 is a Diamond Taxi, a 74 ish Plymouth Belvedere, on the left is a Ford Econoline van.
Other notables: above and to the right of 4518 the Gulf Canada brand gasoline service station (Gulf sold 900 stations to Petro Canada in 1986).
Above the Econoline: note the Coventry Motor Cars Limited sign, the local Renault Canada dealer (Renault manufactured cars in Quebec near Montreal 1965 to 1972, and exited the North American market late 70′s.
