Neat. What happened to this one?
For reference, this is taken at the 26″ Mill (Blooming Mill). Ingots that were knocked down on the 26″ Mill were cropped of their Tops and Bottoms on the Shear before they were finish rolled into rounds and RCSQ billets on the 22″ mill. The gons are either MT’s or Full of “crops” that will be returned back to the Melt Shop for remelt as “home scrap”. There would have been < 3 years of operation left on that mill as the entire plant closed in Sept 2003. Only the Melt Shop survived, and had a new Arc Furnace installed in 2022.
